GetNyay Data

Official Indian figures, compiled so they can be cited

Government of India publishes a great deal of data about consumer harm, and almost none of it in a form anyone can use. We compile it from the primary documents, keep it current, show our working, and licence it for reuse.

Government primary sources only

Every figure is read out of the original document — an answer given in the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha, or a Press Information Bureau release. Nothing is taken from a news report, an aggregator or another website, and every figure on a page links to the document it came from.

Nothing estimated, nothing filled in

A year with no published figure says so. We never interpolate, project or round up to close a gap, and anything we calculate rather than quote is labelled as our calculation with its inputs shown so anyone can reproduce it.

Everything here is free, needs no signup, and is published under CC BY 4.0 — reuse any figure or chart with credit and a link. Press queries to team@getnyay.in get a same-day reply.

More datasets, as they are built

A dataset only appears here when there is a standing commitment to keep it current after each session of Parliament. If there is a set of official figures you need compiled and cannot find in a usable form, tell us at team@getnyay.in.
