What we actually provide is narrower than that, and it is worth being precise about it:

• Document formats — the standard structure of a legal notice, an affidavit, a complaint, an application, laid out so you can see what belongs where.
• General information — how a procedure normally works in India, which authority sits at which stage, what the usual time limits are.
• Drafting tools — generators and calculators that assemble a starting draft, or work out a date or a limit, from details you type in.

None of that is advice about your situation. Legal advice means a qualified person reading your specific facts, your documents and your correspondence, and telling you what to do. We do not see your facts and we do not know your case. A format that is right for most people can be wrong for you, and only somebody who reads your papers can tell you which.

We also do not represent anyone, do not file anything on anyone’s behalf, and do not act as an intermediary between you and a company, a regulator or a court.

Treat anything you generate here as a first draft. Read it line by line before it leaves your hands. Check that the names, dates, amounts, account numbers and reference numbers are yours and are right, that the facts are stated the way they actually happened, and that nothing in it overstates your case.

The cost of a single consultation before you send a notice is almost always smaller than the cost of fixing a notice that was sent wrong. A defect in a statutory notice can be fatal to the claim it supports — a wrong address, a missed deadline, a demand phrased incorrectly, and the whole step may have to be started again, sometimes too late.

It matters that you know what is behind the page, so here it is plainly.

Templates

Most documents on GetNyay are built from templates — a fixed structure with your details slotted into it. The structure comes from the standard form of that document in Indian practice, checked against the statute or rules that govern it where one exists. A template is general by definition: it is built for the ordinary version of a situation, and your situation may not be the ordinary one.

AI-assisted drafts

Some parts of the site use AI to turn what you describe into a draft, or to explain a procedure. AI writes fluently and confidently whether or not it is correct. It can state a section number that does not exist, describe a procedure that has changed, or quietly drop a fact you gave it. Every AI-assisted draft on this site is reviewed by a human before publication where it is published content, and needs to be read by you before use where it is generated for you. What follows from that

A generated document reflects the details you typed and the assumptions built into the template. It cannot account for a fact you did not mention, a document you did not have to hand, an agreement that changes the default position, or a local practice that differs from the general one. Where a document does not fit your facts, it is the document that is wrong, not your facts — do not bend the facts to fit the form.

Every legal page on this site carries a date, and we review them. Even so, statutes are amended, section numbers are renumbered, monetary limits are revised, procedures move online, portals are replaced, and fee slabs change. A page that was accurate when it was written can be out of date by the time you read it.

Before you file or send anything, confirm the current position — the limitation period, the section number, the correct forum, the applicable fee — against the primary source: the bare Act, the regulator’s own page, or the government portal. Where we know a source, we link it on the page so you can check it in one click.

Our grievance officer directory compiles nodal officer names, addresses, email addresses and helpline numbers from official published sources — the company’s own grievance page, the regulator’s published directory, the ministry’s notification. We verify entries periodically and show the verification date on the page, so you can see how fresh an entry is.

If you find an entry that is out of date, please tell us — that is exactly the kind of report we act on fastest.

Plainly: you use this site at your own risk, and you are responsible for what you do with what you find here.

• We provide this site and everything on it "as is". We do not warrant that any format, procedure, timeline, contact detail or calculation is complete, current or correct for your situation.
• We do not promise any outcome. No complaint, notice or application drafted here will necessarily succeed, be accepted, be answered, or be answered in time.
• We are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site — including a claim that fails, a deadline that is missed, a notice served at the wrong address, a document rejected by a forum, or money not recovered.
• We are not liable for how any company, regulator, authority or court responds to a document prepared here, or for their acts and omissions generally.
• Where the site is unavailable, interrupted, or a document fails to generate, our responsibility is limited to restoring the service.

Nothing here excludes a liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Where a limitation in this section is unenforceable, it applies to the fullest extent that the law does allow, and the rest of this page continues to apply.

Company names, brand names, logos and trade marks belong to their respective owners. We use them for one purpose only: to identify who a complaint concerns, so you can find the right page and the right desk. Naming a company on this site is not a statement about that company, and is not a claim of any association with it.

Similarly, referring to a government portal, helpline or authority is a signpost, not a connection. We have no ability to file with them, no standing before them, and no influence on what they decide.

People act on what we publish, so an error here is not a small thing. If a format is wrong, a section number has changed, a timeline no longer matches the rules, or a contact detail bounces, report it and we will check it against the primary source and fix it.
