Bharat Gas Complaint — SmartLine, Online Form and Escalation
Bharat Gas is BPCL’s LPG brand, and it is the one of the three with its own dedicated round-the-clock line as well as the shared numbers. Its online form also asks you to classify the complaint — get that right.
- Who to contact first
- Your Bharat Gas distributor first, then Bharat Petroleum Corporation above it.
- How to reach them
- For a leak, 1906 at any hour. For a service complaint, the BPCL SmartLine on 1800-22-4344, which is described as operating around the clock, or the complaint form at my.ebharatgas.com.
- How long to wait
- BPCL does not publish a single national redress period, so note the date and reference.
- If they ignore you
- Escalate above the distributor to BPCL’s territory or regional office, file on CPGRAMS in parallel, and use the consumer commission where you want money back.

If you can smell gas: close the regulator knob, touch no electrical switch, light nothing, open the doors and windows, get everyone out, and call 1906 from outside. 1906 is the all-India LPG emergency helpline and works for every LPG brand. Everything else on this page can wait until people are safe.

How the process runs
- 1Distributor first
Your Bharat Gas agency handles delivery, weight, price and cylinder condition. Get a reference.
then: if unresolved - 2SmartLine or the online form
Call 1800-22-4344, or file at my.ebharatgas.com choosing LPG and then the type Complaint — not Query, which goes to a different queue.
then: if nothing moves - 3Territory or regional office
BPCL appoints the distributor and can act against it. Quote the complaint reference.
then: if you want money back - 4Consumer commission
Short delivery, overcharging or refusal of supply is deficiency in service, at e-Jagriti within two years.
What this system will not take up
Filing one of these wastes the whole period — it is closed on that ground alone.
- Anything pending before a court.
- Piped natural gas (PNG), which is a city gas distributor service with a different route.
- A dispute with an appliance seller or stove mechanic, who is not the LPG distributor.
- A claim for compensation — that is the consumer commission, not the company.
What to have ready before you complain
Assemble these first. A complaint that opens with the identifying numbers gets routed; one that opens with how long this has been going on gets a template reply.
- Your Bharat Gas consumer number, printed on the subscription voucher and every refill invoice.
- The distributor name and code — the agency you actually book from.
- The refill booking reference and the date booked.
- The cash memo or invoice for the last delivery, showing what you were charged.
- The notified retail price for your area on that date, for an overcharging complaint.
- Photographs of a damaged cylinder, a broken seal or a leaking regulator.
- The complaint reference issued when you first complained.

Alongside the shared LPG numbers it runs its own SmartLine, and its online complaint form requires you to classify the submission — selecting Complaint rather than Query is what places it in the grievance queue. Frequently asked questions
What is the Bharat Gas complaint number?
For a gas leak, 1906 at any hour — the all-India LPG emergency helpline. For service complaints, BPCL runs its own SmartLine on 1800-22-4344, described as operating around the clock, and Bharatgas is also covered by the common toll-free number 1800-2333-555 listed by the National Portal of India alongside Indane and HP Gas.
How do I file a Bharat Gas complaint online?
Through the Complaints and Feedback section at my.ebharatgas.com, selecting LPG. The form then asks for a type — Appreciation, Complaint, Query, Reminder or Suggestion. Choose Complaint. Selecting Query instead is a common mistake and routes your grievance to an information queue rather than a grievance one.
What is the difference between the SmartLine and 1906?
1906 is the all-India LPG emergency helpline for leaks, and it is not a complaint line — use it when there is a hazard. The SmartLine, 1800-22-4344, is BPCL’s own customer care number for service matters, including a suspected cylinder defect that does not pose an immediate risk. If you can smell gas, it is 1906, from outside the house.
Can I complain about my Bharat Gas distributor itself?
Yes, and it is a separate complaint from a delivery problem. The distributor is an appointed agency, so conduct — refusing to register a complaint, tying delivery to an accessory, charging above the notified price — goes to BPCL, which appoints the agency and can act against it. Give the agency name and code from your subscription voucher.
How long does BPCL take to resolve a Bharat Gas complaint?
No single national period is published, so there is no figure to quote and we will not invent one. Note the date and the reference issued when you complain, and measure from it. Filing on CPGRAMS in parallel attaches a 21-day redress norm and a 30-day appeal window that the company route does not publish.
Is complaining about Bharat Gas free?
Yes. 1906, the SmartLine, the common toll-free line, the online form and CPGRAMS are all free, and no lawyer is involved. Any demand for money to register or expedite a complaint should be treated as a warning sign. The drafting help here is free too — Word and PDF, no payment and no signup.
