iGuideline Summary
HDFC Bank must resolve customer complaints within 30 days as per RBI mandate. HDFC Bank provides multiple complaint channels including PhoneBanking, NetBanking, and a dedicated grievance email. For credit card disputes, HDFC Bank must respond within 45 days. If HDFC Bank does not reply within 30 days, or within the longer response period prescribed for that kind of transaction, you can go to the RBI Integrated Ombudsman; if the reply you get does not satisfy you, you can go straight away. Escalating to HDFC Bank's Principal Nodal Officer first is optional β it often settles the matter, but it is not a required step and it does not start a fresh 30-day wait.
